BIO
Katie Rotolo, born Kathleen Therese Rotolo, was born and raised in South Florida. At the young age of three she began dancing, first with ballet and continuing her dance evolution through pointe, modern, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, and tap. By the age of twelve Katie expanded her focus on the arts to include acting and musical theatre.
Katie began formal acting training in middle school, the same year her acting teacher gave her the idea to begin doing stunt work because of her background in gymnastics, which is hopefully the next stepping stone in her career. She continued taking acting classes and began musical theatre in high school where she began to focus more seriously and took on principal and featured dancer roles in school plays and musicals such as “Seussical” and “Aida”. It was then that she realized that pursuing an acting career was a realistic goal for her. She decided that despite all odds she would never take no for an answer in following her very ambitious dreams of becoming successful in the television and film industry.
Katie’s television and film credits include principal roles in the upcoming horror thriller "Hell Glades", "Taste It" a raunchy comedy about the recession, "Lies" a psychological thriller, Andy Garcia's award winning "Magic City Memoirs" and the list continues to grow. Katie would like to thank the entire cast and crew of "Burn Notice" for giving her a foot in the door in the industry she has grown to know and love so much. Doing background and standing-in really gave her her start in t.v. and film and taught her so much. Katie has also starred in numerous plays including her portrayal of Juliet, in Shakespeare’s “Romeo & Juliet”, as well as the role of Margaret in “The Some of All Parts”, and Kelly in “One Hundred Women”, all of which were performed at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, where Katie is currently studying to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre with a Minor in Dance. She has also been in multiple music videos including “Non Siamo Soli", Eros Ramazzotti & Ricky Martin and "Buck Wild”, in which she is a principal dancer. Katie also has experience and a lot of fun doing voice overs. Katie continues to attend castings in south Florida, Los Angeles, as well as other various markets. She lives her dream every day that she takes on the role of a new character.
She describes this feeling in her own words. “I love taking on a new persona for as little as a moment or for a number of hours at a time. It is such a rush to be able to step out of myself and create a whole new character and to make that character my own. Many people do what they love for a living but I am living a dream, my dream, and it is one of incomparable worth.”
